Godolphin will launch a strong two-pronged attack in the staying feature after trainer John O’Shea confirmed both Allergic and Alegria in the 2016 Stephen Quality Handicap field.

Allergic has been a strong and consistent performer for Godolphin throughout his entire racing career so far; posting six wins and a further eight minor through his twenty-three competitive starts.

Running third behind Delicacy and Werther in the 2015 edition of the Group 1 SA Derby (2500m), the Street Cry gelding returned in summer and autumn for a number of handy results, including second place finishes in each of the Listed Parramatta Cup (1900m) and Listed Randwick City Stakes (2000m).

Resuming this time for sixth in the Listed Winter Challenge (1500m), Allergic has since won the Premier’s Cup Prelude (1800m), finished fifth in the Listed Premier’s Cup (1900m) and third in the Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes (2000m).

Alegria capped a smart autumn campaign a close second to Libran in the Group 2 Chairman’s Handicap (2600m) and has returned this time for ninth in the Winter Challenge and fifth in the Listed Wyong Cup (2100m).

Veteran warhorse Junoob is the sole representative of leading Sydney trainer Chris Waller in the 2016 Colin Stephen Quality Handicap field.

Securing eleven wins and fourteen minors through a busy fifty-four start career, Junoob was a typically consistent performer through winter this year; running second in the Listed ATC Winter Cup (2400m) most notably.

Returning from a freshen-up for third in the Listed Rowley Mile (1600m), the Haafhd gelding placed fifth in the Kingston Town Stakes before again running third in the Group 3 Newcastle Gold Cup (2200m) last week.

Chaquinta is chasing a fourth-consecutive win in the Colin Stephen Quality, but undoubtedly faces her biggest career test to date in staying feature.

The stable star for Queanbeyan-based trainer Joe Cleary, Chaquinta jogged home to win both the TAB.com.au BM67 (2200m) and Myboycharlie @ Vinery BM67 (2700m) in August, before again winning the TAB.com.au BM69 (2400m) last time out on September 14th.
